Cobble Driveway Bristol

Greenwood Surfacing was asked to replace the existing gravel driveway at a 16th century farmhouse in Bristol with something more practical but still in keeping with the age of the property.

With the existing gravel driveway, the rain persistently washed the gravel down towards the house, the drains were constantly blocked and carpets within the property stained. The main entrance to the driveway was full of potholes where vehicles had constantly turned tight around the corner.

We recommended reclaimed cobbles for the main driveway from York, laid horizontally through the gates. We changed the angle of the cobbles midway around the corner so the horizontal courses faced the property.

With the new cobble driveway, we have created a much more robust surface, that combats the wear and tear from being regularly trafficked.
