Block Paving Driveway in Bath
Elegant new block paving driveway helps eradicate standing water issues

The existing driveway was a well compacted self binding gravel, which was prone to holding rain water. In order to get down to the rocky sub base, we dug out 400mm of spoil. A ground stabilising membrane was laid, followed by a 300m layer of clean free draining stone. This was followed by another layer of ground membrane and a 30mm layer of grit sand. The permeable blocks sit on this grit sand layer and are compacted in. Finally we brush a loose decorative fine stone between the joints.
Not only does the new driveway beautifully compliment the property but it has also eradicated the previous standing water problem.
